An Oklahoma hunter encountered something unexpected on the prairie, and now his video of the incident is going viral.
Andrew Rice says he was hunting ducks and geese near Adair on Monday, December 23, 2013, when he saw an animal he never expected to see running across the Oklahoma plain.
It was a kangaroo.
His video recorded the sight, but it also recorded his reaction to the unexpected sight. Watch the video to hear what we mean.
He's been overwhelmed by the reaction to the video.
"This is so funny," he posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday. "I uploaded this video thinking a few of my friends are going to think that is funny. I had no idea it was going to go viral all over Facebook. But I guess it is a pretty funny video when I can't even stop watching it over and over and it's my own video!"
Andrew, a 21-year-old from Claremore, says he was hunting with five friends when it happened. They first spotted it when it was about 200 yards away, thinking it was a deer.
As it ran toward them, it quickly became obvious it was a different animal. Andrew grabbed his phone and turned on the camera.
"I hunt a lot and I see some crazy stuff but this is the topper," he told News On 6.
He says the feedback has been all positive, aside from a little bit of flak for using some colorful language.
"I did use a little bit of course language. All I can say is I was in shock, I was just throwing words out there," he said with a laugh.
The sighting brought back memories of a kangaroo that disappeared from her owner's home in Shawnee last December.
